ACADEMIC CRITERIA: The Maryland High School Diploma is awarded upon completion of 22 credits (starting with the Class of 2025) with the following coursework requirements:
4 credits -English Language Arts (English 9, 10, 11, 12) 3 credits -Social Studies (US History, American Government, Modern World History) 4 credits -Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, 2 Higher Level Math), 3 credits - Science (3 credits in laboratory-based science that align to the Maryland Science Standards in one of each science disciplines of Earth Space Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. ) 1/2 credit - Physical Education 1 credit - Health 1 credits - Fine Arts 1 credits - Technology Education 1-3 credits - Electives
2 credits - World Language (same, consecutive) OR 3 or 4 credits - Career and Technology Education Program
Additionally, students must: -Pass all Maryland High School Assessments -Satisfy Career Preparation requirements, World of Work (WOW) -Satisfy the Student Service Learning requirement (75+ hours)
